LEA SALONGA FIRST FILIPINA DISNEY LEGEND

Anaheim, CA - Lea Salonga has been awarded as Disney Legend during a 3-day event held by Disney company at the D23 which was witnessed by Disney fans all over the world.

She was the first Filipina to receive the award and was greeted with a round of applause by the audience in standing ovation. 

During the program, there are twelve outstanding talents were recognized by the company for their lasting contributions to the Disney's legacy.  The Disney Legends program was established in 1987 and continue to grow  where recipients are chosen by top Disney executives. 

Tom Hanks, Elton John and Barbara Walters were among the awardees of Disney legends.  If we could remember, Salonga was the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in "Aladdin". She also performed in Mulan.

"I'm really usually great shooting from the hip, but right now I've just been rendered speechless by this," Salonga said when she received her award.

"This is a really big deal. It's wonderful for all these princesses to be honored in such a wonderful way by the Walt Disney Company," she added. "To the Walt Disney Company, thank you so much."

She further added, "It's pretty amazing." "I'd like to think that my trip through my life and my career hasn't stopped yet."

It's every little girl that's grown ups fantasy to be able to see one of the most iconic voices when it comes to women's empowerment and cartoon movies. It's phenomenal," said Alyssa Label. 

This is a notable success of Salonga because she achieved it when time is difficult for Filipino talents to be recognized as a world class talent.

SUGARLAND SHOW 4 DEAD AND 40 INJURED WHEN STAGE COLLAPSED

Before the famous country band Sugarland could perform on stage at the Indiana State Fair tonight, the stage has been struck by strong winds causing the stage to collapse and killed 4 persons while 40 were injured, reports said.

A WANE-TV reporter who was present when the incident took place described the incident and said, "The wind just picked up and the stage just caught and the roof just caught and it went up like a sail and then it crashed forward into the people standing in the front. There were people trapped underneath and everyone was running and screaming. They were asking any medics or nurses not to leave."

JACKIE CHAN IS ALIVE AND STILL KICKING

These past few days, it has been a hottest news around the globe and even became a trending topic in various social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter that famous Hong Kong  Martial Arts actor Jackie Chan have died by heart attack.

The news was totally a hoax and there was no truth about it. 

To end such news, Jackie Chan finally made a statement today that he is alive and busy for his concert. He is now actually singing live a charity song on TV to donate its proceeds to the earthquake and tsunami victims of Japan. A Hollywood reporter said, "Jackie was alive and in good health. He did not have a heart attack or die."

SHOCKING DEATH OF ELIZABETH TAYLOR SENDS ZSA ZSA GABOR TO HOSPITAL

The shocking death of Elizabeth Taylor sends  Zsa Zsa Gabor, sex symbol in the 1950's  and 1960s  to hospital caused by high blood pressure. 

 

Gabor was watching the TV news Wednesday morning  in her Los Angeles Bel Air mansion when she learned that her friend and one-time neighbor had passed away. She was inconsolable and feared that she will be next since her two friends Jane Russell and Liz Taylor had already left her.  It is their  common belief  that celebrity deaths come in threes.

Gabor, who is now 94 and also fighting of poor health where her right leg was partially amputated feared of the incident and spoke out that she will be next to pass.

John Blanchette Gabor's publicist  said  that she was taken to the hospital when her blood pressure soared but released Wednesday evening. Blanchette says, "She's not going to be the third."

LEGENDARY ACTRESS ELIZABETH TAYLOR DIES AT THE AGE OF 79

Famous and legendary actress Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor died this morning at the age of 79 after six weeks of confinement at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA  caused by congestive heart failure. 

The screen icon celebrated her 79th birthday in the hospital last February 27 where she was continuously monitored of her health condition.  

She is survived by sons Michael and Christopher Wilding, daughters Liza Todd and Maria Burton, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Publicist Sally Morrison says a private family funeral will be held later this week. Her family asked that contributions be made to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

Elizabeth Taylor had more than 50 films but her movie Cleopatra in 1963 is still regarded as the greatest fiasco's in cinema history. Her films were loved by the people and showed several times. I've even seen the movie Cleopatra in mid-80's and the movie was really great.

Elizabeth Taylor is one of a kind and a woman of perfect beauty.

Famous and legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor who will be celebrating her 79th birthday come February 27, has been hospitalized in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA  for congestive heart failure.

Humors are now  twirling the globe that such hospital confinement will continuously led to her death. The humors are not true however, she is stuck in her hospital bed now for monitoring. 

The family  and close friends of Oscar-winning actress appreciates the warm support of her supporters and  loyal fans but asked to respect her privacy during her difficult time and let her medical team  focus on restoring her health.

Taylor has been dealt with various health problems over the years and the humors of her demise bursts since 2004 when she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure - a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to the other organs of the body. In 2009, she underwent heart surgery to replace a leaky valve. 

It was also reported that Taylor suffered benign brain tumor, skin cancer, pneumonia and  bone fracture on her back which resulted to three hip-replacement operations and to use a wheelchair for several years. She spent to rehabilitation twice in 1980 for alcohol and drug addiction. 
 

In 2006, she was allegedly gravely ill and suffering with Alzheimer disease but able to deny reports before "CNN Larry King Live Show" telling she was alive and well. 

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor  also known as Liz Taylor was born  on  February 27,  1932, in London, United Kingdom by an American parents and achieved her first stardom at the age of 12 in "National Velvet." 

She became famous of her electric blue and violet eyes, dark alluring beauty,  love of diamonds and her eight marriages, one of which was her marriage to actor Richard Burton, who married him twice.

She grew and known for her great acting talent and beauty where she appeared in more than 50 films. She was nominated five times in Oscar, who won twice and awarded as Best Actress for her roles in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" in 1966 and Butterfield 8" in 1960.

She was claimed as the Most Beautiful Woman of her time and worshiped as Hollywood's most famous beauty in the 60's.

She never appeared on screen since the 2001 TV movie, "Old Broads" but still make appearances on her charitable works especially to her AIDS Foundation. Her last Hollywood movie was in 1994, a live action-comedy "The Flintstones."

Taylor is expected to attend the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) gala entry in New York on Wednesday night to receive an award for her dedication in AIDS research, however, her health condition refuses her to be there.

SLUMDOG CHILD ACTOR BEATEN BY FATHER

Shocking images of Oscar winning "Slumdog Millionaire" young child actor Azharuddin Mohammed received vicious beats at the hands of his father.

After walking down the red carpet in Hollywood few days ago, the ten-year-old film star was slapped and kicked by his father, Mohammed Ismael after refusing him to put on display of his trophy in front of shocked neighbors and passers by. The young tearful boy ran back inside his home, cowering and begging his father to stop as he tried to hide in a corner.

The young boy, Azharuddin, had just flown back to India from Los Angeles, where he and the other movie young stars who picked up eight Oscars.

Azharuddin had been given a school day off after his long flight and wanted to rest but his father wanted his son could be his ticket out of Mumbai's Dharavi Slum to show him off outside their home. The boy refused and said out loud causing his 45-year old father to launch his attack while Azharuddin's mother pleaded him to stop.

A stunned onlooker said: "Azharuddin's father was upset when he was asking to be left alone because he was tired. He didn't attend school today so that he could recover from his long flight from LA and simply wanted all the attention to stop. However, when Azharuddin put his foot down and said that was it and there was to be no more talking, Ismael just flipped."

The ugly scene was in stark contrast to Azharuddin's triumphant return to the slums, when his father lifted him up and paraded him like a trophy.

Hours later, Ismail, who is suffering from tuberculosis apologized his attacks and said: "I was very sorry I did what I did. "I was confused and stressed by my son's homecoming and I did not know myself for a minute. "I love my boy and I am very happy to have him home."

February 27 - Whittier, California - Jimmy Kimmel,  impersonated Nadya Suleman and conducted a live and exclusive interview with the octuplets mom via satellite.

Thursday, February 26. In an off camera, Nadya and her mother, Angela, had a heated argument publicly criticizing Nadya about her decision in life of having an octuplets without considering her other six previous children. 

 

She told her that she is not capable of having that 14 children, how to support, take care and protect them, being unemployed. At the start when Nadya gave birth to an octuplets last January 26, she has been supported by the public but recently the public and even her own mother Angela, turned about face from her having that unsound mind.

Wednesday, February 25, a Major Porn distributor, Vivid Entertainment, sent a letter to Nadya offering her $1Million to star in a porn show of her own. Vivid even willing to go one step further to provide her family full medical and dental insurance if she becomes a "Contract Girl" for multiple videos. No answer yet from the Octomom, but she needs the money for the down payment of her house.

Tuesday, February 24 - Chicago.  Ed Doud, Nadya's father, appeared before Oprah Winfrey on her talk show, flatly asking Oprah to help her daughter, Nadya, mentally evaluated because he believes Nadya is mentally incomplete. He said that he has been shouldering the burden of the 14 grandchildren of his ex-wife, Angela, the mother of Nadya having only a $100 in his bank account and choked back in tears saying he needs to leave the country and his 14 grandchildren to work overseas.

He further says that he can only stick around for another one to two weeks, then it's two less hands to help around the house, which could soon be on the auction block.

Monday, February 23. - In an exclusive interview with Good Morning America, DENIS BEAUDOIN,  appeared and came forward claiming that he is the biological father of Nadya's octuplets having a relationship with her since 1990 and donated a sperm at her request. The statement of Beaudoin has been denied by Nadya telling that Beaudoin is not the father of the octuplets but he wants DNA testing.

Los Angeles, CA - Nadya Suleman, the octuplets mom, has been publicly and strongly criticized by her own mother Angela, who contradicts her decision in life, particularly of having that octuplets which were borne last January 26.

Angela,  Nadya's mother,  told her that she is not capable of bearing children, taking care of their health, their safety and their welfare. She further told Nadya,  how could she protect her 14 children from danger and their home now is just like a day care center having chaos daily. Paparazzi are always roaming around and a flying helicopter. Whenever Nadya went out her children are clinging on her leg.

The two has been arguing off camera wherein Angela denounces Nadya's decision of vitro fertilization and told her "You should have considered your other six children." Angela's intense reaction of seeing the octuplets for the first time said: "I felt sorry for them."

February 10, Tuesday - The 23-year old best known Israeli model, Bar Refaeli, who is romantically linked to Leonardo DiCaprio has won the coveted cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2009, the most popular issue in any Magazine of the planet.

The photo shoot took place on Canouan Island in the Grenadines. The cover girl was slated to fly cross-country in a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737, which was to be swathed in a giant image of her photo, according to the "Today" show.
