Charles Russell Johnson III, 26, America's famous freestyle and free ride skier died in a horrific ski crash while skiing with a group of friends who fell at a steep chute of California's Squaw Valley, California after completion of Winter X Games.
Member of the Lake Tahoe-Area Resort's Ski Patrol Jim Rogers said, Johnson, 26, died when he fell while trying to negotiate a "very, very tight, rocky area."
Johnson was wearing a helmet but his helmet took a serious blow causing the back of his head to strike on the rocks in the Light Towers area that resulted to his death on the slopes.
Johnson was well-known at Squaw Valley of his professional freestyle and free ride in skiing who had been in this sports during his earlier age.
The ski community and the current Olympians mourned the loss of professional skier C.R. Johnson.
