SEOUL, South Korea - Top South Korean Model, Daul Kim, 20, was found dead by French police at her apartment in Paris Thursday, a statement of Foreign Ministry Official in Seoul.
Official declined further details about the incident. The model was scheduled to attend the fashion week in Paris and London.
Media reports stated that it was an apparent suicide but officials haven't confirm this report.
Raised in Seoul and Singapore, Kim modeled in Asia before making her fashion week debut in Paris in 2007, modeling for Chanel, Dries van Noten and Maison Martin Margiela. She was at a fashion week regular in New York, Milan, Paris and London who recently appeared during the Seoul fashion week last October.
Kim, 5 ft.and 10 inches tall (178 centimeter) was also known with her thick mane of hair and her quirky sensibility. She was recently in a commercial designer Christopher Kane's line of clothing for British retailer Topshop.
Aside from being a painter and video filmmaker she is also fond of "collecting forks" as a hobby.
Kim's parents headed to Paris while Bloggers in South Korea mourned her death.
In an entry of her blog dated October 30, she wrote that she was "mad depressed and overworked," and in another entry said "the more I gain the lonely it is... i know i'm like a ghost."
The last entry on her blog dated November 18 was entitled "say hi to forever" carrying a video of the song "I Go Deep" by British singer Jim Rivers.
Meanwhile, it was reported that South Korea has the highest rate of suicide cases among the 30 nations in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Former President Roh-Moo-Hyun jumped to his death in May while embroiled in a wedding corruption scandal.
Ex-Chairman of South Korea's oldest conglomerate likewise killed himself early this month.
In 2008, actress Choi Jin-sil also committed suicide following the footsteps of a fellow actor, these are only among the suicide cases happened in South Korea.
